The Construction Business Line Leader for LNG is a member of the LNG business line's leadership team and acts as the primary construction representative for the business line. The role reports to the company's head of construction and has a matrixed reporting line to the LNG business line's senior executive.
This position provides strategic leadership and construction expertise to support business growth, project pursuits, workforce planning, organizational capability, and operational excellence across the LNG portfolio. It partners closely with business line leadership, sales, project leadership, operations, engineering, estimating, supply chain, and construction teams to ensure the business line has the resources, leadership, and construction capabilities needed for successful project delivery.
Project construction directors keep direct responsibility for project execution. This leader serves as a key advisor and escalation point for construction matters, supporting critical staffing decisions, construction strategy, and the resolution of complex business and project challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary construction representative and lead point of contact for the LNG business line on all construction-related matters.
- Participate actively in the LNG business line leadership team, contributing to business strategy, organizational planning, project pursuits, and operational decisions.
- Partner with business line and construction leadership to align construction capabilities and resources with business objectives and growth strategies.
- Collaborate with sales, business development, estimating, engineering, project management, operations, and supply chain leaders to develop competitive execution strategies and support new business opportunities.
- Support project pursuits with construction expertise, staffing strategies, constructability input, labor assessments, and execution planning guidance.
- Provide active oversight of ongoing projects, including routine jobsite visits, to confirm adherence to project practices and procedures.
- Lead construction workforce planning for the business line, including succession planning, talent development, leadership pipeline management, and deployment of key construction personnel.
- Partner with project leadership and construction management teams to identify and fill critical staffing needs across the LNG portfolio.
- Act as a trusted advisor to construction directors and project leadership teams in resolving complex construction, workforce, and execution challenges.
- Connect project teams with construction subject matter experts, best practices, lessons learned, and organizational resources.
- Support the continued development of self-perform construction capabilities and long-term craft workforce strategies in the LNG market.
- Monitor construction resource demand, labor market conditions, and capability needs to address business line requirements proactively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, labor organizations, construction leaders, and industry partners.
- Promote consistent construction practices, leadership expectations, workforce development, and operational excellence across the portfolio.
- Champion construction excellence, field leadership development, and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (or global equivalent) in a relevant field and 15 years of related experience, or 19 years of directly related experience without a degree.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Technical knowledge necessary to perform the role.
- Ability to learn and apply relevant local, state/provincial, and federal/national regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently against deadlines.
- Ability to travel approximately 33% of the time for jobsite visits and business needs.
- Executive leadership experience supporting LNG, energy, petrochemical, or other large-scale EPC project portfolios.
- Significant experience leading construction organizations, workforce planning, talent development, and resource deployment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate within a matrixed organization and influence outcomes across business and functional groups.
- Experience serving on senior leadership teams alongside business development, engineering, operations, project management, and commercial leaders.
- Strong understanding of LNG construction execution, labor planning, modularization strategies, and large project delivery models.
- Proven experience supporting major project pursuits, proposal development, client engagement, and execution planning.
- Track record of building high-performing construction leadership teams and succession pipelines.
- Strong understanding of self-perform construction strategies, craft labor markets, and workforce development initiatives.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with business line executives, project leadership, clients, and industry partners.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving organizational effectiveness, construction excellence, and continuous improvement.
