Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 2 days in office (same days each week), 3 days remote

• Pay Rate: $30.00 $32.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (40 hours/week, one-hour lunch)

Job Summary

The loan specialist will serve as the subject matter expert on creating new loan notes on the ACBS system. The role supports loan servicing operations by processing loan requests received from clients, reviewing documentation prepared by a partner team, and using the ACBS system to set up, maintain, and create new loan notes and related documentation. The main functions include gathering and analyzing financial information, conducting quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions, and analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and process loan requests received from clients
• Create new loan notes for existing clients on the ACBS system
• Perform system maintenance related to new notes
• Research and respond to internal client-related note inquiries
• Complete miscellaneous tasks related to line of business initiatives as needed
• Assemble spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports
• Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions
• Interpret data affecting investment programs, such as price, yield, stability, and future trends in investment risks

Must-Have Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education is a plus)
• 1 years' experience with loan systems such as IBS and ACBS
• 1 years' Loan operations experience
• Previous banking industry experience

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Knowledge of AML requirements
• Previous CIBC or Financial Industry experience
• Knowledge of ACBS system

Required Skills

• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time
• Basic ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses
• Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data
• Basic knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in the financial industry

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required (post-secondary education is a plus)
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required
• Advanced degree in a financial discipline preferred

Required Experience

• 1 year of experience with loan systems such as IBS and ACBS
• 1 year of loan operations experience
• 0 2 years of financial and/or accounting experience required

• No anticipated extension or FTE conversion on the hiring manager's team; however, opportunities for extension on other teams within the broader business unit may exist depending on business needs and contractor performance.
