Loan Operations Officer

Position Summary
A local Community bank is seeking an experienced Loan Operations Officer to oversee loan operations, documentation, disbursements, and servicing. This role requires strong knowledge of commercial and industrial (C&I) lending, including oil and gas loans, along with USDA loan experience. The ideal candidate brings at least 7 years of relevant experience, proven management skills, and a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily loan operations and supervise staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing, funding, and servicing.
• Support C&I lending, including oil and gas loans, by ensuring documentation and operational requirements are met.
• Review loan documents for accuracy, completeness, proper approvals, and adherence to bank policies and applicable requirements.
• Coordinate loan closings and disbursements, verifying funding conditions and supporting documentation before releasing funds.
• Oversee operational support for USDA loans, including documentation, servicing, reporting, and program compliance.
• Run and review general ledger (GL) reports, reconcile loan-related accounts, research discrepancies, and coordinate corrections.
• Monitor documentation exceptions, collateral records, insurance requirements, and other outstanding loan items.
• Maintain compliance with applicable lending regulations, internal controls, and bank policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits and regulatory examinations by gathering records, answering requests, and supporting corrective actions.
• Prepare reports on loan activity, account reconciliations, documentation exceptions, and operational performance.
• Partner with lending, credit, accounting, and compliance teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.
• Train, coach, and evaluate staff while maintaining clear procedures and accountability.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of banking loan operations experience, with substantial commercial lending exposure.
• Management experience required, including staff supervision, training, and workflow oversight.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with C&I loans, including oil and gas lending.
• Experience with USDA loans and related documentation and servicing requirements.
• Strong background in loan document review, disbursements, GL reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of lending compliance, audit preparation, and internal controls.
• Ability to prepare accurate reports, resolve discrepancies, and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with bank loan systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
