Logistics Specialist

Oxford Solutions is seeking a Logistics Specialist for a contract opportunity with a client. This position supports daily logistics and procurement operations, including freight coordination, carrier management, purchasing activities, and shipment tracking. The ideal candidate has experience in supply chain operations, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, working with carriers to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries.
• Track shipments, resolve transportation issues, and maintain accurate shipping documentation.
• Support procurement activities, including vendor quotes, purchase orders, and supplier coordination.
• Maintain relationships with freight carriers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and internal teams to support efficient operations.
• Monitor freight costs, supplier performance, and logistics metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and logistics records within ERP systems.
• Prepare reports and assist with process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; 
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, procurement, or supply chain operations.
• Experience coordinating freight shipments and working with carriers or logistics providers.
• Familiarity with purchasing processes, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
• Experience with ERP systems 
• Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
