Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics process. This individual will coordinate and schedule all inbound and outbound shipments, continuously striving to optimize transportation expenditures. A key responsibility includes prioritizing diverse shipping requirements to consistently meet expected delivery dates for OEM projects, Technical Service operations, and Workshops.

What you'll do

• Schedule, receive purchase orders in SAP/GSS, create shipping documents and track all shipments through delivery
• Post goods issue in SAP to trigger invoices to customers
• Handle all import and export related matters
• Ensure materials and goods are delivered to sites/vendors in a timely manner as per clients' and/or internal criteria
• Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs
• Communicates regularly with internal customers and logistics providers. This includes working closely with SMS group's Buyers, Engineers, Project Managers, Site Managers and suppliers
• Addresses issues and actively participates in the resolution
• Maintains documentation and continually monitors carrier performance
• Develops logistics plans in cooperation with Project Management and Service Plant Managers

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
• Preferred 2+ years of logistics experience including shipping, working with carriers and freight forwarders, import and export procedures
• Able to manage time effectively
• Excellent oral and written language skills
• Familiarity with GSS or SAP Pro4 business system is preferred
• Working knowledge of standard computer software, including Word, Excel and Outlook
