NOTICE OF VACANCY DEPARTMENT: Student Services CLASSIFICATION: Instructional Staff REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal Communicate with the campus Principal and Assistant Principal as well as the Coordinator of Student Services regarding campus related student issues. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: 1. Master's degree

    1. Education Specialist I or II Certification with a major concentration in Secondary Guidance and Counseling. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Experience counseling in a school setting preferred.
    2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
    3. Knowledge of career and technical education preferred.
    4. An exemplary attendance record is required.
    5. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. POSITION GOAL: Provide career guidance and counseling services to students enrolled at BCTC; provide career information and assist with recruitment, application and enrollment activities, and events; serve as NOCTI Site Coordinator; work to ensure the success of all students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
    6. Prov ide career counseling guidance and counseling services to all students at BCTC assigned campus.
    7. Communicate effectively with participating district guidance counselors and coordinate efforts to deliver comprehensive guidance services.
    8. Encourage all students to achieve their fullest potential; set high expectations for students to reach academic proficiency and occupational competence.
    9. Promote a safe and healthy school culture where all students are valued regardless of their differences and each student experiences a sense of belonging; develop and implement programs and initiatives to support a positive school environment (e.g., Bully Prevention Program).
    10. Support the student recruitment process including all tours and presentations, College/Career & Parent Conference Nights, Open House, New Student/Parent Orientation, Senior Awards and Recognition, and the distribution of applications and recruitment deliverables to assigned districts; participate in county-wide counselor meetings.
    11. Conduct annual senior placement survey and articulate the Pennsylvania Department of Education process for obtaining the process of graduate follow-up survey.
    12. Maintain a database of senior career plans and promote the achievement of students as successful role models.
    13. Respond to all campus alumni information and record requests. NV-400 2 8/28/2020
    14. Encourage and support student participation in programs non-traditional to their gender; encourage students to continue their education at the postsecondary level; particularly in BCTC apprenticeship programs.
    15. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student data and records using the established student accounting software system; maintain and store student records electronically as required by law and JOC policy to ensure confidentiality of records.
    16. Facilitate schedule changes for assigned students once the school year begins in coordination with the Counselor - Manager of Enrollment.
    17. Administer various testing programs to students and interpret results to students, parents and staff.
    18. Promote and facilitate the use of existing articulation and dual enrollment agreements informing all students, parents, BCTC staff and district counselors/staff of their value; assist students in pursuing and earning advanced credits under these existing agreements.
    19. Facilitate the student grading process to ensure compliance with school policy and procedure. This includes: coordination of grade reporting procedures, sending grade reports to districts, mid-quarter reports, grade changes and failing grade reports, etc.
    20. Assist teachers with student conflict resolution; provide individual and group counseling to encourage personal responsibility and self-discipline.
    21. Make student referrals to appropriate agencies when necessary.
    22. Coordinate and schedule the career pathway experiences for 9th grade early admissions students consistent with established procedures; meet with students and teachers to ensure effective communication among teachers and success for all students.
    23. Represent BCTC at student IEP meetings for all 9th grade Early Admissions Program students as they transition to 10th grade; attend other IEP meetings as assigned. R. Administer the annual Student School Climate Survey in cooperation with the Assistant Principals.
    24. Prepare for and participate in regularly scheduled Student Services meeting and other meetings as required.
    25. Advocate for the success of all assigned BCTC students ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws/regulations and BCTC policy/procedures; maintain ongoing communication with and actively support the student services team and the goals and objectives of BCTC.
    26. Maintain a current Student Services Career/Resource Library.
    27. Collect and compile data and complete reports as required; assist with updating all control documents.
    28. Support the continuous improvement process as necessary.
    29. Other related duties or tasks may be assigned on an as need basis by the Assistant Principal and/or designee. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: See attachment.
