Long-Term Substitute Teacher, Lower SchoolWho You AreThe Episcopal Academy seeks a warm, joyful, and flexible educator to serve as a long-term substitute teacher in our Lower School until December 18, 2026. In this floating role, you will support teachers and students across classrooms and grade levels, responding to the needs of the school each day.Lower School teachers are collaborative members of a teaching community committed to growth and continual improvement. You will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning and help maintain a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment.What You Will DoProvide classroom support across Lower School grade levels as assigned.Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce lessons and support learning.Assist teachers with classroom activities, preparation of materials, and daily routines.Help maintain classroom expectations and support students' social and emotional development.Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other activities as assigned.Provide classroom coverage and follow prepared lesson plans as needed.Communicate with teachers and colleagues about student needs and classroom observations.About YouThe ideal candidate for the Long-Term Substitute Teacher position at The Episcopal Academy will possess the following:A bachelor's degree, preferably in education or a related field.Experience teaching or working with children.Familiarity with literacy and mathematics instruction.A student-centered approach and an understanding of young children's academic, social, and emotional development.Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.Flexibility and initiative, with the ability to move between classrooms and adapt to different routines and age groups.A commitment to professional growth and to fostering an inclusive school community.About UsAt Episcopal Academy, we believe that challenging and nurturing our students begins with supporting our people.
