Holy Rosary School, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide Spanish instruction to upper elementary (4th & 5th) as well as junior high students and Social Studies instruction to students in Grades 6-8. This position is available immediately.

Primary Responsibilities
Spanish - 4th and 5th grade plus Junior High (6-8th grades)
Provide developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for elementary and junior high students.
Teach age-appropriate vocabulary, conversation, listening, reading, writing, and grammar skills.
Incorporate Spanish-speaking cultures and traditions into instruction.
Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages students to participate and develop confidence using the Spanish language.
Adapt instruction and expectations to meet the developmental needs of students across different grade levels.
Social Studies - Grades 6-8
Provide engaging, standards-aligned Social Studies instruction for students in Grades 6-8.
Teach course content related to social studies, history, geography, and cultures as appropriate to each grade level.
Develop students critical-thinking, reading, writing, research, and discussion skills.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including projects, collaborative learning, primary and secondary sources, presentations, discussions, and technology.
Encourage students to make meaningful connections between historical events and the world today.
General Responsibilities
Prepare and implement lesson plans consistent with the school s curriculum and academic expectations.
Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
Assess student learning and maintain accurate records of assignments, grades, attendance, and academic progress.
Differentiate instruction to meet the varying academic needs and learning styles of students.
Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress when appropriate.
Collaborate with teachers, administration, and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student success.
Participate in faculty meetings, school activities, and other responsibilities associated with the long-term assignment.
Support school-wide expectations for student behavior, responsibility, academic excellence, and integrity.
Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and Catholic identity of Holy Rosary School.
Serve as a positive role model and contribute to a welcoming, faith-filled school community.
Qualifications
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university. Proficiency in Spanish sufficient to provide effective Spanish language instruction. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to effectively work with both upper elementary and junior high students. Willingness to support the mission, values, and Catholic identity of the school. Valid California teaching credential and/ Previous upper elementary and/or junior high teaching experience. Academic background in Spanish, History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field. Experience teaching Spanish and/or middle school Social Studies. Experience working in a Catholic or faith-based educational environment.
Minimum of BA or BS. Teaching credential preferred.
