Legal Entity Aultman Health Foundation Position Summary The primary purposes of the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) are to provide direct patient care, patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Department Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to represent the organization in leading our community to improved health through community education and health screening. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will perform assigned duties in accordance with established policy and procedures. The LPN will work cooperatively in maintaining standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In doing so demonstrates, creates, and fosters a work environment that is consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Aultman Health Foundation and provides care that consistently complies with the Aultman Corporate Service Standards and high reliability culture. The WOW (Working on Wellness) department provides community education and screening for both monthly on-going and individual event requests. This department leads our community to improved health through screenings, health education, and connecting those we serve to health services. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing. Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required. IV Certification, preferred. Department Qualifications Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License. Must have 3 years of driving experience. Must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. MVR check must demonstrate safe driving behavior as outlined in the Aultman Health System Driver Policy and be approved by Aultmans insurance carrier. Skills Proficient computer skills to complete tasks as required. Must be organized, able to effectively prioritize tasks and exhibit appropriate time management skills. Documents nursing activities accurately and in a timely manner. Implements the identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Administers treatments and other direct care; prepares and administers medications as prescribed; observes and evaluates patients responses to medications and treatments; and identifies and promptly communicates adverse reactions to the Registered Nurse. Collects specimens as ordered. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and students. Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. LPN is a patient advocate in conjunction with the other members of the healthcare team and fosters patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and applicable policies. Adhere to professional standards and guidelines, including ethical actions, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, during nursing practice. Working Conditions Meal and break times are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage. Shifts are scheduled or changed due to the staffing needs of the unit/department based upon volume and acuity. Work weekends and holidays as assigned or as applicable based on department needs.
