Pharmacist – Wilkes-Barre, PA
Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706
Schedule: Multiple shifts available
License Requirement: Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support prescription dispensing, medication management, and patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
Available Shifts
Candidates can choosebetween these shifts:
First Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
First Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
Second Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM
All schedules include working every third weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Monitor medication compliance and identify potential medication overuse or drug-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Identify medication-related problems and communicate recommendations to appropriate healthcare providers.
- Monitor pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and other pharmacy staff as needed.
- Provide medication-related education and guidance on appropriate use of medical devices.
- Support patient services such as blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol management, and smoking cessation counseling, as applicable.
- Prepare compounded medications and sterile solutions in accordance with established procedures, as required.
