The Studio Building & Design Center is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Lumberyard Associate & Delivery Driver.
We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in a job well done, and understands the importance of providing excellent customer service.
This position involves preparing customer orders, making local and regional deliveries, receiving merchandise, maintaining an organized lumberyard, and assisting customers and coworkers with daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull, organize, package, and prepare lumber and building material orders for pickup or delivery.
- Deliver materials safely and efficiently to customers and job sites.
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift and other equipment.
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect merchandise, and assist with inventory accuracy.
- Communicate with sales staff and customers regarding orders, deliveries, and special instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient lumberyard.
- Inspect delivery vehicles and equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist customers with loading materials.
- Process customer returns accurately.
- Assist with snow removal and seasonal maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required.
- Experience working in a lumberyard, building materials business, warehouse, or delivery environment preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred; willingness to obtain required certification.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with appropriate assistance or equipment when needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Friendly, professional attitude toward customers and coworkers.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
