Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $45.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (3x12 Hours); Every Other Weekend required; Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed

Job Summary

This is a Medical Surgical LPN travel contract role at a 528-bed acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY. The position supports a complex care unit serving Medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 6. The facility is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, and offers specialized services across cardiac, oncology, neuroscience, and surgical programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take own patient assignment with the support of an RN; Acute Care experience within the last 2 years required
  • Perform Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, and Start/maintaining IVs
  • Manage High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, and Trach care/management
  • Perform Feeding tube care/management, Heparin Protocols, Pacemaker (Temp/Perm) management, and Telemetry-on the unit monitoring
  • Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams, maintain Isolation Precautions, perform Wound Care/Wound Vac, and provide care across MS/Tele, Ortho trauma, Total Joint Replacements, and Surgical drains
  • Float within skillset as required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Every Other Weekend requirement
  • Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 6
  • Float requirement: Will be required to float within skillset
  • Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
  • RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Must submit requests upon submission
  • Call off Policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours
