Machine Operator Carpet Cushion - 3rd Shift

Carpenter Co. is looking for a strong team player who thrives in a highly communicative environment. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a specific piece of equipment to produce useable product to be used by external customers using a daily production schedule. In this role, you will partner daily with peer operators, leadership, and management to keep production running smoothly and safely. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. 

Initial 4-6 week training on first shift while the full team is onboarded. 

Position Description

• Proper operation of assigned machinery.
• Conduct visual inspections of assigned machinery.
• Perform routine quality checks to ensure standard guidelines are met.
• Continuously watch for defects or flaws in the materials.
• Plan workflow with the lead/ supervisor to ensure proper product is ready for the next production task.
• Minor machinery troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Skills / Requirements

• High School or GED
• Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure.
• Ability to maintain clear, ongoing communication with department machine operators, Lead persons, Supervisors, Managers, and fellow employees. 
• Ability to work comfortably in a normal plant environment with regular exposure to temperature changes.
