NC/CNC Machine Operator III uses computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to cut and shape machine parts and precision products. Completes CNC machinery for setup production runs. Ensures the machine has the proper computer program and necessary tools installed. All machinery must be monitored for any problems during the production run. This may require adjusting the program or escalating the issue for resolution. After items have been produced, NC/CNC Machine Operator III ensures all parts meet specifications and verify their quality.
Responsibilities:

Simple maintenance diagnostics.
Sets-up equipment by setting adjustments to match specifications.
Testing tolerances.
Fabricates parts by operating equipment using hand tools.
Verifies parts by using precision measuring instruments.

Documents equipment changes by completing records.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Operator with 10 years of experience with CNC machines and manual lathes.
Knows how to read measuring instruments such as micrometers, depth gauges, thread gauges, calipers, internal and external diameter gauges, and familiarity with metric measurements is preferred.
