JOB SUMMARY
The Machine Operator Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintains a safe work environment by following standards and procedures
- Operate various machines within the cell
- Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
- Performs basic daily and preventative maintenance and checks on machines
- Meets daily production schedules by following procedures
- Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
- Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
- Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in work instructions.
- Takes ownership and responsibility for quality of work
- All other duties as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in manufacturing and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) highly desired
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
- Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred
- Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
- Capable of using hand tools and general inspection tools effectively
- Detail oriented with good time management and organization skills
- Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
- Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
- Good attitude, eager to learn and be a team player
- Must be able to stand, stoop and lift to 40-50lbs
