Machinist - Central Fab Shop (Athol)

Machinists are highly skilled and detail-oriented individuals who are responsible for operating manual and CNC lathes and mills to ensure the production of high-quality parts. We are a job shop who repairs and rebuilds parts for all of Idaho Forest Groups mills. Occasional overtime is required for large projects and mill outages or repairs.

PAY RANGE: $36.84/hr - $43.36/hr DOE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Machinists are required to setup, program, and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills.
• Ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to produce precise parts.
• Inspect machined parts using standard measuring equipment to ensure adherence to tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machining equipment.
• Plan and coordinate project workflows to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Other duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in machining operations, with a good understanding of CNC and manual machining techniques and equipment.
• Experience in programing for CNC machines.
• Skills:
• • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical school training or apprenticeship.
• Mastercam experience in 3+1 and 4 axis mill programming.
• Mastercam experience in 2 and 2+1 lathe programing.
• Overhead crane experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
