Job Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative

• Work to blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to machine die and weld fixture details
• Support all departments with machining needs
• Assure safe operation and maintenance of Toolroom equipment
• Assist Tool and Die Makers in die repair and maintenance
• Set up and operate basic Tool room equipment with little assistance
• Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

SH&E

• Support and enforce compliance to TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.

• Provide a safe and healthful work environment that is free of all recognized hazards for employees, contractors, and visitors.

• Advise employees, contractors and visitors of any actual or potential danger to their safety or health and ensure the necessary training and/or personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.

• Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.

• Know, follow and enforce all applicable SH&E Rules, Policies, and Procedures.

• Help manage Safety Performance Measurables such as incident rate, monthly inspection results and EOS scores. Overall performance to the measurable elements of our SH&E system are part of annual performance review.

EDUCATION

• High school graduate or equivalent

TECHNICAL EDUCATION

• Vocational School/ training preferred
• Machine Shop
• Blueprint reading
• Advanced mathematics (geometry)

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

• Safety Compliance

• 5S

• Quality

• Attendance

• Punctuality

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 3 years' experience
• Experience working as a Machinist

SKILLS

• Ability to read tool and die designs and prints
• Basic and advanced math skills required (trigonometry)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to communicate well with others
• Excellent teamwork skills required
• Individual to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated and reliable
• Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others' safety
• Ability to work overtime as required

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

• Toolroom machinery including: CNC machines, lathes, milling machine, surface grinders, drill press, saws; hand tools
• Precise measuring equipment
• Common office equipment (i.e. PC, copier, facsimile, etc.)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Ability to move throughout the plant

• Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required

• Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

• Overtime hours are often mandatory; out of town travel not required
