Your Role and Impact

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision components that support Flowserve's manufacturing operations.

This role contributes to product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction through the fabrication, modification, and repair of mechanical components and equipment. Working within a team-oriented manufacturing environment, you will utilize machining expertise, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement skills to support production and maintenance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools and manufacturing equipment to produce precision parts and components.

• Perform machining operations by following established manufacturing processes and work instructions.

• Support equipment maintenance and repair activities through inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance tasks.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.

• Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, and related inspection tools.

• Verify dimensional accuracy and product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

• Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures to maintain a safe workplace.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, and support teams.

• Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.

• Knowledge of machining principles, manufacturing processes, and mechanical components.

• Ability to utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.

• Experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, CNC lathes, or CNC milling machines.

• Experience performing machine setups and adjusting machining parameters.

• Familiarity with precision measurement and dimensional inspection techniques.

• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• Experience supporting equipment maintenance and repair activities.

• Strong planning, organization, and workload prioritization skills.
