Job Description
Job Details:
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and saws.
- Manufacture tooling, fixtures, jigs, and adapters based on engineering drawings, sketches, or sample parts.
- Modify and repair existing tooling to restore functionality or improve performance.
- Hold tight tolerances and ensure dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
- Select appropriate materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, plastics, etc.) based on tooling requirements.
- Perform threading, boring, turning, facing, and milling operations.
- Work closely with engineering and technicians to develop tooling solutions for complex repairs.
- Maintain tooling records, including build documentation and revision control.
- Ensure all tooling meets applicable regulatory requirements, including those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under 14 CFR Part 145.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with shop standards.
- Needs to pass a drug test.
