Mail Programmer

Location: Onsite - Woonsocket, RI

Shift: First or Second Shift

Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mail Programmer to support data preparation, file processing, mail merge operations, and production workflow automation. This role plays a critical part in preparing customer data and print files for high-volume mail production.

The ideal candidate will combine data processing expertise with experience supporting variable data printing and mailing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare customer files for production
• Perform mail merges and variable data processing
• Cleanse and validate mailing address data
• Utilize NCOA and postal compliance tools
• Convert customer-supplied files into production-ready formats
• Support workflow automation initiatives
• Troubleshoot file and data-related production issues
• Collaborate with print and production teams to ensure job accuracy

Required Qualifications

• Experience in mail programming, print programming, variable data processing, or document composition

• Strong understanding of:

• Data cleansing

• Mail merge processes

• Address validation

• Production file preparation

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience working with large data sets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with:

• PlanetPress

• OL Connect

• Quadient Inspire

• Variable data printing software

• Knowledge of USPS mailing requirements

• Experience utilizing NCOA software

• Exposure to workflow automation

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Python or other scripting/programming experience
• Database experience
• Print production background
