A leading U.S. Financial infrastructure organization is seeking a Mainframe Systems Administrator to support a business-critical Unisys ClearPath Libra / MCP environment.
This opportunity is focused on hands-on mainframe infrastructure administration, including hardware installation, system configuration, firmware, patching, storage connectivity, and networking.
The successful candidate will help maintain reliable production systems, configure physical and virtualized mainframe environments, and troubleshoot complex issues across Unisys, Windows, Linux, storage, and networking technologies.
The role is best suited to an infrastructure-focused systems administrator with direct Unisys experience rather than a mainframe application developer.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Install, configure, and administer Unisys ClearPath Libra mainframe systems.
- Bring mainframe systems online and configure associated hardware and infrastructure.
- Support firmware updates, patching, system maintenance, and software installation.
- Configure and troubleshoot network and storage connectivity.
- Support SAN environments and enterprise storage systems.
- Maintain integrations across Unisys MCP, Windows Server, and Linux.
- Troubleshoot production infrastructure issues and work with internal technical teams.
- Support system administration utilities, operational automation, and scheduled maintenance.
Role Requirements- Hands-on Unisys ClearPath Libra experience.
- Mainframe hardware installation and configuration experience.
- Strong systems administration experience covering hardware, firmware, patching, networking, and storage.
- Experience bringing Unisys systems online.
- Understanding of network connectivity, TCP/IP, storage networking, and iSCSI concepts.
- Familiarity with integrations across Windows, Linux, and Unisys environments.
- Ability to resolve complex infrastructure problems in production systems.
- Excellent technical communication and collaboration abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and relevant technical experience.
- Ability to work three days onsite and support scheduled off-hours maintenance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Unisys ClearPath Software Series VM-based administration.
- Experience with OPS Console, System Editor, OC Manager, and other Unisys tools.
- Experience with DMSII, COMS, CCF, Security Center, CANDE/WFL, and LOGANALYZER.
- EMC storage arrays, Cisco MDS switches, or related enterprise SAN technologies.
- Experience with Unisys vendor support, system dumps, and software patching.
- General AWS or Azure knowledge.
