Maintenance Building & Grounds (1st Shift)
Base Pay: $18.00 to $$25.48 per hour.
Location: Alexandria, MN
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-2:30pm

About the Job
This role helps maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility by performing equipment repairs, building and grounds maintenance, and supporting daily operations. The position prioritizes workplace safety, responds to maintenance needs, assists with seasonal upkeep, and helps ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working condition.
What Maintenance Building & Grounds does
- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Conduct general maintenance and repairs; carpentry, painting, general cleaning, change light bulbs or any other functions associated with the upkeep or maintenance of building and grounds, etc.
- Conduct snow and ice removal, using hand and power equipment to keep exits, sidewalks, pallet storage, loading docks and parking areas clear and in as safe a condition as possible (this may require roof work as needed)
- Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines
- As a member of the maintenance team, act as “emergency coordinator” - respond immediately to any workplace accidents that arise to tend to the tools and equipment involved
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong coordination and judgment skills
- Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and others
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Preferred (not required)
- Associates degree in a field relating to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, or mechanics desired
- 1+ years of experience in building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, and mechanics desired
