JOB SUMMARYThis position performs electrical work on city facilities under the supervision of the Assistant Construction Manager.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Special Requirements:Master licenses required and 10 years of experience. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment failures. Must possess a valid Texas class "C" driver's license or higher.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of HVAC Systems.Knowledge of computer software and programs.Ability to adapt to new technology, new methods and changing conditions.Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, or sit for long periods of time.Ability to lift weights of 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance.Ability to climb in and out of confined areas and have the ability to climb heights greater than 100 feet.Ability to design and build control panels, wire buildings according to plans and specifications.Ability to diagnose electrical control problems in City facilities.Ability to supply and maintain electrical for downtown concerts and all special events.Ability to communicate with vendors, management, contractors and the public in a professional manner.Ability to understand and enforce City of Conroe and Departmental policies and procedures.Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.Ability to obtain certifications/licenses to perform work assignments.Ability to make decisions in the absence of Superintendent.Ability to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.Ability to work as many hours needed to get the work assigned completed.Ability to understand engineer drawings.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
