Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Pay Rate: $20/hr - $23/hr (Depending on experience)
Location: AC Hotel, El Segundo, CA

Position Summary
The Maintenance Engineer performs interior and exterior preventive maintenance and basic repairs in a safe and efficient manner while following hotel policies, brand standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position responds to engineering service requests and helps ensure the hotel remains safe, functional, and welcoming for our guests and associates.
Essential Functions

• Perform interior and exterior preventive maintenance and general repairs, including painting, drywall/sheetrock repair, tile repair, changing light bulbs, filter cleaning, and other routine property maintenance.
• Respond promptly to guest room and hotel engineering service requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic maintenance, mechanical, and equipment issues.
• Properly use, maintain, and store engineering tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain engineering shops, work areas, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Promptly report emergencies, injuries, property damage, mechanical problems, missing articles, and potential safety hazards to management.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document work completed.
• Document parts and supplies used and identify items that need to be ordered or replaced.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, sanitation, and emergency procedures and practice safe work habits at all times.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests, associates, and management.
• Report guest concerns, unusual incidents, or matters requiring additional attention to a manager or supervisor.
• Report to work on time, in proper uniform, and prepared for the scheduled shift.
• Attend departmental meetings and required training as scheduled.
• Complete assigned shift reports and incident documentation when required.
• Participate in special projects, task forces, or committees as requested.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Previous building, facilities, or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Trade school or building maintenance training is a plus.
• Previous hotel or hospitality industry experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance, repairs, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to identify maintenance issues and complete basic troubleshooting and repairs.
• Strong attention to detail with good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to complete assignments efficiently and follow established policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide professional and friendly guest service.
• Effective communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Must satisfy all legal requirements for employment within the applicable jurisdiction.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on position with work performed both indoors and outdoors and around equipment and machinery.
The position requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The role may also require operating a motor vehicle.
Schedule
AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Operational needs may require variations in scheduled days, start and end times, weekends, holidays, and hours worked.
