Delgado Community College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill a Maintenance Foreman position to repair and remodel buildings and other projects within the Maintenance department at Delgado Community College.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
Four years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.

Job Duties and Other Information
Supervises and installs partitions, walls, new door and window openings, etc.; repairs and installs locks, door checks, windows and similar equipment; erects scaffolding; inspects wooden structures for safety of operation; operates various types of power equipment such as an electric saw, electric drill, planer, lathe, sander, etc.
Assigns and inspects the work of Maintenance Repairer 2's in the Carpentry Crew. Supervises the repair, construction, and remodeling of buildings and other projects.
Meets with contractors pertaining to carpentry issues at the college. Requisitions materials, meets with vendors. Maintains cost and time spent on work orders.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with education and work experience.
