Wage Range: $33.43-$49.63 per hour.The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation, such asshift differentials and premiums may be available for this role. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, applicableeducation and internal equity.

JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Adheres to Hospital’s Policies and Procedures and Philosophy of Care. Consistently exhibits professional conduct that is a behavior-based expression of the hospital’s Health & Healing principles. Performs general maintenance and construction related activities relating to mechanical, electrical, heating and ventilation, carpentry, and plumbing systems. Work involves installation of appliances, components, fabrication of parts and systems and repair of equipment and systems pertaining to remodeling and construction related activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of 5 year’s experience in construction related field or trade. Experience in the use of construction specific power tools and a variety of equipment. Knowledge and understanding of Building codes and ASHRAE standards. Knowledgeable experience working in a healthcare environment following regulatory requirements is a plus.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate a variety of wood working equipment, hand and power tools. Proficient carpentry skills. Ability to perform basic welding and cut­ting tasks. Ability to hang and finish drywall. Basic knowledge of electricity, circuits, and electrical safety a must. Basic knowl­edge of heating and ventilation equipment, including boilers, pumps and ventilation equipment. Good com­munication and in­terper­sonal skills a must.

Essential Functions/Technical

• Installs and repairs doors, door frames and hardware items.
• Inspects and repairs furniture, cabinets, countertops, shelving and casework.
• Constructs cabinets and casework.
• Cuts and applies laminates to cabinets, counters, tables and shelv­ing.
• Performs carpentry work orders and repair.
• Assists contractors with construction projects.
• Performs minor alterations and renovations such as paneling, wall partitions and moving doorways.
• Repairs drywall windows, flooring and ceilings.
• Ensures timely completion of carpentry work orders and repairs. Uses proper as required and performs all duties in a safe manner.
• Estimates quantities and procures materials and parts required to perform work.
• Inspects mechanical equipment and repairs as necessary.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems; completes required documentation.
• Performs work orders for repair and replacement of mechanical equip­ment.
• Observes recorders, meters and gauges on mechanical equipment, and records on logs and forms as requested.
• Responds to hospital emergencies, such as fire drills, internal di­sasters, snow storms, etc.
• Provides weekend on-call emergency service for hospital.
• Maintains professional growth and development by attending training schools, seminars, workshops, etc. Attends all in-services and performs required annual training offered by the department.
• Performs duties in a cheerful, courteous and professional manner pro­moting the best possible service for customer/patient.
