Job Description Summary:
We are looking for a qualified person to fill the position of Maintenance Lead. This person will be responsible for farm maintenance and plays a critical role in overall farm operations.
Aggressively manage all breakdown maintenance requirements to successful conclusionsSchedule and direct (via the department’s work order system) the day-to-day activities of the maintenance mechanics to achieve safe, timely, and satisfactory workEvaluate the effectiveness of manufacturing equipment functionality and schedule necessary repairs or suggests changes in operating methods on order to improve plant operationsDevelop, implement, and maintain the department’s preventative maintenance proceduresOversee work in progress by outside contractors to determine adherence to plans and specificationsTrack, measure and document the performance of the maintenance mechanics on an individual basisLead, develop, and motivate the maintenance mechanics in the areas of processing, facility and utility equipment troubleshooting and repairJob Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least 6 years of industrial maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical, or electronics engineering3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment requiring knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical and mechanical systems and maintenance and process controls and equipmentSkill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectivesAbility to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited directionStrong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skillsAbility to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive level managementBasic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysisAbility to communicate factual information and provide directionExperience working in a 24/7 operation and working on a rotating shift preferred (8 hour rotating shift position - could work holidays, weekends or mid-nights) preferredWillingness to work extended hours when necessaryAbility to lift up to 50 lbsStrong commitment to safety with the demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve safety and productivity goalsPhysical Requirements:Work with chemicals, such as detergents and disinfectantsStanding for extended periods of time (6 hours)Grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wristsLift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbsBend and stoop repetitively throughout shiftProlonged exposure to dry and dusty environmentsWork Environment:Routinely work 5 days a week plus occasional weekends and holidaysRoutine handling and interacting with live poultryOngoing presence of farm related smells or odorsClimate exposure both hot and coldWorking in damp and/or wet environmentWorking in a loud/noisy environmentWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
