Job Details

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise a team of approximately 10–12 union maintenance employees in a heavy industrial environment. This role combines crew leadership, maintenance planning, and technical troubleshooting to improve equipment reliability and support production.

This position requires rotating-shift availability, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays.

What You’ll Do
Lead daily maintenance activities, assign work, and coordinate crew schedules and priorities.
Promote safe work practices through safety conversations, housekeeping standards, and consistent accountability.
Support technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical equipment failures, including issues involving PLC-controlled machinery.
Coordinate breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and planned equipment work with production and maintenance personnel.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, equipment documentation, and work orders to guide repairs.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project planners.
Maintain appropriate spare-parts inventories to support efficient repairs and equipment availability.
Improve preventive maintenance procedures and address recurring equipment problems.
Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, control maintenance costs, and improve product quality.
Complete maintenance reports, scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities.
Build a respectful team environment that encourages communication, collaboration, and employee development.

What You’ll Bring
High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of experience supervising crews in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
A background as a maintenance supervisor or a maintenance lead with meaningful crew leadership responsibility.
Working knowledge of industrial mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with large production machinery and PLC-controlled equipment.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts, extended workdays, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising union employees or comparable military leadership experience.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electrical technology, maintenance, or a related field.
Equivalent practical experience in a large industrial maintenance environment will also be considered.
