Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing plant maintenance, capital projects, equipment installation, and facility infrastructure. This position is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing a high-performing maintenance team.
Principal Responsibilities
- Champion a culture of safety excellence by promoting proactive hazard identification, incident prevention, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and oversee all maintenance operations, including equipment repairs, facility maintenance, installations, and capital projects to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment uptime and support operational objectives.
- Manage maintenance and capital budgets, project timelines, contractor performance, and resource allocation to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and process control systems, supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities, equipment installations, material deliveries, and project execution.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and processes that enhance reliability, productivity, and operational performance.
- Ensure maintenance documentation, equipment records, and compliance-related activities are maintained in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team through performance management, training, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Drive workplace organization and operational excellence through 5S and continuous improvement programs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of progressive maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ability to manage priorities and deliver results
- Experience with CMMS Programs and strong knowledge in Microsoft Office programs
- Advanced technical knowledge in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electrical controls, process instrumentation, PLC programming and troubleshooting motors and drives.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and decision-making abilities
