Requirements for Maintenance Mechanic

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Technical school, trade certification, or apprenticeship completion is highly desirable

Required Experience
Minimum of 2–4 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment; OR completion of a recognized Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship or Skilled Trades Program

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience within one or more of the following industries is highly preferred:

• Food & Beverage Manufacturing

• Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

• Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

• Chemical Processing

• Industrial Manufacturing

• High-Speed Packaging Operations

Technical Qualifications

Candidates should possess working knowledge of:

• High-speed processing equipment

• Packaging machinery

• Mechanical drives

• Pumps

• Gearboxes

• Conveyors

• Bearings

• Hydraulic systems

• Pneumatic systems

• Mechanical power transmission

• Welding and fabrication

• Basic machining

• Hand and power tools

• Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Predictive Maintenance (PdM)

• Root Cause Failure Analysis

• SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP-PM)

• Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Safety & Regulatory Knowledge

Working knowledge of:

• OSHA Safety Standards

• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

• Confined Space Entry

• Hot Work Permits

• NFPA Standards

• NEC Standards

• GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

• HACCP

• Food Safety Standards

• TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)

• Lean Manufacturing

• Six Sigma methodologies

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 pounds

• Climb ladders and elevated work platforms

• Work in confined areas around production equipment

• Stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and reach throughout the shift

• Work in varying temperatures within a manufacturing environment
