POSITION SUMMARY Performs minor maintenance and routine preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, systems. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Mechanic III and II assist with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment related to plant operations. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Trade school or 1 minimum yearwork experience with-inone of the following: plumbing, mechanical, electrical. Awareness of building and safety codes and the ability to learn specifics Ability to read and interpret code specifications, diagrams, sketches and operation manuals,know how to use e-mail and understand basic computer logic. Valid NC Drivers License. Preferred: Vocational training in at least two of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing. Formal education of building and safety codes; Ability to read and interpret code specifications, diagrams, sketches and operation manual. ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication during interaction with others. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
