Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Departmental Construction and Maintenance Supervisor, the Lead Maintenance Mechanic - Statewide, performs miscellaneous skilled work in the maintenance, alteration, and repair of buildings and mechanical systems; may instruct/lead other Maintenance Mechanics and/or Corpsmembers/crews on CCC Energy Efficiency projects on CCC identified properties; and do other related work. This position requires travel to all CCC-owned and leased facilities throughout the state, a class C license is required.

Facilities Maintenance

Traveling to locations throughout the state to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all building systems; including but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning (A/C), painting, water, irrigation, sewer, storm drain systems, closed circuit television (CCTV), solar systems, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations; repairs commercial kitchen equipment, laundry appliances, various fleet vehicles, and power tools. Responds to emergency calls in order to mitigate emergency conditions threatening the health and safety of staff, corpsmembers, public and state facilities and grounds. The work may require overtime hours, working on days off, weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions

This position may report to an approved, primary California Conservation Corps location statewide. This position is required to travel to all CCC owned/leased sites based on assignment or need. In Office - This position is classified as "In Office" and is not eligible for telework, however, as noted, HQ location is negotiable and travel is required so actual work location will vary based on operational needs.
