I. Position Description
The function of this position is to plan and schedule maintenance projects while considering labor, parts, and machinery availability. This position is also responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of preventive maintenance (PM) work by continuously evaluating PM instructions, procedures, and work requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan maintenance work and manage the maintenance work backlog.
Maintain work order documentation in compliance with established written procedures.
Produce weekly maintenance schedules and track performance against the established plan.
Perform receiving duties when the Stores Supervisor is unavailable.
Work in conjunction with union positions to ensure the accuracy of estimated time requirements for maintenance work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
II. Pre-Hire Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Diplomacy and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with and motivate the workforce while promoting efficiency.
Computer proficiency, including experience with computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to perform safety evaluations in an industrial environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
III. Qualifications
Environmental training applicable to the position.
Safety training for applicable equipment.
Job-specific instructional training.
Quality system familiarization.
Awareness of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards, as well as plant environmental management system (EMS) objectives and targets.
Understanding of significant environmental air aspects and impacts.
Active participation in and support of plant JTE initiatives and activities.
IV. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use their hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and to reach with their hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to extreme heat. The employee may occasionally work at elevated heights or in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is typically very loud. Employees must be able to properly wear and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
