Maintenance Shift Lead - Westwego, LA
Position Summary
The Maintenance Shift Lead provides frontline leadership for maintenance activities supporting ARTCo’s mid-stream stevedoring operation in Waggaman, LA. This position leads and trains personnel in the safe care and maintenance of the crane/rig, production equipment, and associated structures.
Working closely with Operations Management, the Maintenance Shift Lead prioritizes maintenance needs, supports equipment reliability and availability, and promotes a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Maintenance Shift Lead coordinates daily maintenance activities and provides direction to personnel to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Leadership & Maintenance Coordination
+ Provide day-to-day leadership and coordinate maintenance priorities based on equipment condition and operational needs.
+ Lead, train, coach, and direct personnel performing maintenance and equipment-care activities.
+ Assign and prioritize work, monitor progress, and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively.
+ Oversee maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the crane/rig, production equipment, and associated structures.
+ Communicate equipment conditions, maintenance priorities, completed work, and significant concerns to Operations Management.
+ Coordinate maintenance activities around vessel, barge, and production needs and ensure required documentation is completed accurately.
Safety, Compliance & Equipment Reliability
+ Promote a strong safety culture while supporting equipment reliability, proper maintenance practices, and operational readiness.
+ Identify mechanical or equipment concerns, support troubleshooting, and help determine appropriate corrective action.
+ Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to support equipment availability and minimize downtime.
+ Reinforce safe work practices and ensure maintenance activities follow established company safety policies and procedures.
+ Maintain clean, organized work areas and adapt maintenance priorities as operational needs change.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
+ The physical demands below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
+ Stand for prolonged periods; frequently lift, bend, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders.
+ Work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy industrial equipment.
+ Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
+ Work a flexible rotating schedule, including mornings, evenings, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

+ Success is measured by effective frontline leadership, a strong safety culture, reliable equipment, timely maintenance execution, accurate documentation, and clear communication of equipment status and priorities.
Required Qualifications
+ Previous maintenance experience in an industrial, mechanical, heavy equipment, crane, production, manufacturing, or similar environment required.
+ Previous experience leading personnel in a maintenance or operations environment required.
+ Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.
+ Ability to work the required flexible schedule with a demonstrated history of safe work behavior.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
