    Position Summary

    Our client, a leading manufacturer in the brick industry, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team at their Harrison, Ohio facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment while driving preventive maintenance initiatives and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience who enjoys developing teams and improving plant performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians across assigned shifts.
    • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
    • Ensure maximum equipment uptime by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and identifying root causes.
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities during planned shutdowns and major equipment repairs.
    • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
    • Monitor maintenance KPIs, including downtime, PM compliance, equipment reliability, and maintenance costs.
    • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
    • Manage inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies while controlling maintenance expenditures.
    • Assist with equipment upgrades, capital improvement projects, and installation of new machinery.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and regulatory standards.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
    • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
    • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
    • Experience in brick, concrete, cement, aggregates, mining, ceramics, glass, steel, foundry, or other heavy industrial manufacturing is highly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Mechanical systems
      • Industrial electrical systems
      • Hydraulics and pneumatics
      • Conveyors
      • Gearboxes
      • Pumps
      • Compressors
      • Kilns, dryers, or material handling equipment (preferred)
    • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment is considered an asset.
    • Experience using CMMS software for work orders and preventive maintenance scheduling.
    • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
