Maintenance Technician 1 - 1st Shift

The Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following warehouse safety procedures and processes
• Perform a variety of maintenance functions including but not limited to machine maintenance, building maintenance.
• Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimal working order.
• Remove, repair, and re-install diaphragm pumps and associated plumbing.
• Ability to use scissor lifts or other types of areal work platform, and ladders to perform above the ground tasks.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties. 
• Ability to use scissor lifts or other types of areal work platform, and ladders to perform above the ground tasks.
• Ensures proper application of Lock-out Tag-out that may be needed to perform duties.
• Maintain and ensure that all inspections for eye wash stations, decon sumps, emergency exit lights, and CO2 detectors are completed in a timely manner.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Be able to assess own strengths and weaknesses and be able to apply that to your task.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to troubleshooting and repair of machines, pumps, and other production related equipment.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
• Ability to maintain attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, etc.
• Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written and be able to communicate with your team.
• Maintain a professional attitude. Work well under pressure and treat others with the same respect that you require, regardless of the situation.
• Proficient use of hand tools & power equipment to perform variable tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per pm check sheets and work orders.
• Provide General Maintenance and minor repairs to equipment throughout the plant.
• Understands and has working knowledge of the Lock Out/Tag Out System.
• Must be capable and willing to train Maintenance Personnel in all areas of the General Maintenance trade.
• Forklift certified

Education and Training Requirements 

• High School Diploma or GED
