WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
As a Maintenance Technician at Ziegler Industries, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment to help keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel engine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Performing routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Performing light repairs on small gas-powered engines as needed.
- Maintaining accurate repair records and maintenance reports.
- Safely operating shop equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
- Keeping your work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Assisting with parts runs and basic shop tasks as needed.
- Communicating clearly with team members and providing project updates.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Qualified candidates should have:
- 3–4 years of diesel mechanic or related experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and apply technical manuals and schematics.
- Own basic toolset (up to ½" drive).
- Valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Positive attitude, team mentality, and willingness to adapt.
- Comfortable using computers. Experience with Excel, Outlook, or Teams is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a hands-on position in a busy industrial shop environment.
Candidates must be comfortable with:
- Lifting 50–75 lbs regularly.
- Bending, kneeling, crawling, and working in tight spaces.
- Working in loud, dirty, and varying hot or cold conditions.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
