    Description

    Primary Purpose of Position:

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automated systems to support efficient and uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and process optimization.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines (e.g., Engel, Milacron, etc..) and automation equipment (e.g., robotics, conveyors, pick-and-place systems).
    • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues in production equipment.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary systems including dryers, chillers, mold temperature controllers, and vacuum systems.
    • Support mold changes and setups by ensuring proper alignment and function of mechanical and automated systems.
    • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
    • Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
    • Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery or automation upgrades.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring equipment issues.
    • Follow all safety protocols and ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
    • Other tasks as assigned.

    • Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience in maintenance within a plastic injection molding environment.
    • Strong working knowledge of injection molding machinery and associated automation.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
    • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Experience with PLCs, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to push, pull, lift, move and/or carry up to 50lbs.
    • Ability to frequently reach overhead.
    • Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.
