Maintenance Technician
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Pay:$20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, with occasional weekends
Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure campus buildings and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering quality work and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace plumbing fixtures, valves, and related components.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and replace electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances.
- Complete basic carpentry repairs on doors, windows, hardware, screens, and furniture.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with painting, facility setups, and special event preparations.
- Coordinate with staff regarding room setups and maintenance needs.
- Work cooperatively with custodial staff and other trades to complete maintenance projects.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and building occupants.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance or related experience.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry repairs.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and work orders.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Compensation
- $20.00 per hour
- Full-time hours
- Day shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Monday through Friday with occasional weekends
