The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping all shop machinery, fabrication tools, and facility systems in peak operating condition. This role combines general industrial maintenance with hands-on welding, metal fabrication, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. [1, 2, 3]
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on welding power sources (MIG, TIG, Stick/SMAW), plasma cutters, positioners, bridge cranes, and shop machinery. [1, 2]
Welding & Fabrication: Fabricate, repair, and modify structural supports, safety guards, handrails, fixtures, and replacement parts using various welding and metalworking processes. [1, 2]

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Strong mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic aptitude.
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (low voltage and 3-phase power safety). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Certifications: LOTO certification and arc-flash safety training required; AWS or millwright/electrician certifications are a plus. [1]
