REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
DESCRIPTION: Employees at this level are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a group leader or supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance duties on building and machines
- Be able to perform preventative maintenance on the machines
- Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses
- Assists in minor carpentry and repair work
- Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and or oiling to ensure optimum working order
- Applies paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment
- Performs related duties as required
- Follow plant specified job specification and task list
- Must know and follow all safety requirements, departmental and plant wide
- Maintain 5-S for assigned areas and equipment
- Must be able to complete required departmental paperwork
- Have general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system
- Must know LOTO (lock out tag out) procedure
- Know the proper use of power, and hand tools
- Know how to use a volt Ohm meter
- Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies
- Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
Education:
- High School Graduate or GED
Experience:
- 1-2 years on the job training verified
Skills:
- Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in electrical or mechanical areas
- Ability to interface and work from sketches and prints
