Maintenance Technician — Commercial Properties

TradeWorX is hiring an experienced
Maintenance Technician to support commercial building operations throughout the Pittsburgh area.
This senior-level position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. The role involves leading preventative maintenance efforts, coordinating vendors, resolving complex building issues, and supporting junior technicians.

Pay & Overtime
$70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Overtime and on-call compensation details will be discussed during the hiring process.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Emergency maintenance response as needed
- Participation in an on-call rotation
Job Duties
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Lead preventative maintenance programs, building inspections, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose complex building system issues and implement effective, long-term repairs.
- Complete work orders, maintain accurate service records, and identify needed repairs or improvements.
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, purchase orders, and maintenance projects with Property Managers.
- Support water distribution, fire suppression, and building energy efficiency initiatives.
- Mentor junior maintenance technicians and provide professional service to tenants and property teams.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls, participate in on-call rotation, and follow OSHA safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and electronic work orders.
- Building Engineer Certification (NIULPE or equivalent) required.
- At least one specialty certification required (HVAC, electrical, boiler, refrigeration, or related).
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with strong communication, customer service, and independent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Multi-property maintenance experience, vendor management, and familiarity with Prism/Building Engines or similar systems.
