Maintenance Technician

Essential Job Functions

  • Execute tasks in carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repair, and basic electrical work (e.g., lighting, outlets).

  • Maintain exterior property, which may include masonry, siding, windows

  • Support vendors and contractors by coordinating access, monitoring work areas, and verifying scope completion.

  • Support installation, relocation, and commissioning tasks for new or modified equipment as assigned.

  • Monitor daily work progress, enforce building codes, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Maintain constant communication with contractors, providing regular updates on project status and managing changes to the scope.

  • Source building supplies required for maintenance and facility modification projects

  • Obtain and compare vendor quotes for building modification work and related services

  • Basic repair abilities in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronic, steam systems, plumbing, and HVAC

  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems (water, chemical, hydraulic, and pneumatic)

  • Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs machining equipment, transfer presses, process lines, and other general facility and production equipment with some direction

  • Cleans, inspects, and lubricates shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery as part of assigned PM schedules

  • Read and interpret basic equipment operating instructions to perform repair

  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to perform necessary repairs and adjustments

  • Actively participates in LEAN projects and activities

  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures

  • Other assignments as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Minimum of 2 years of machine repair, electrical or general maintenance experience

  • 3-5 years of machine repair, electrical and general maintenance experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with limited information

  • Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork

  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed

  • Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook

  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision

  • Experience with FANUC and Siemens controls preferred
