The
Hilton Garden Inn Chicago North Shore / Evanston is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused Maintenance Technician to support our hotel. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct daily property walk-throughs and complete inspection checklists.
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop and storage areas
- Support safety and emergency procedures (fire alarms, pool chemicals).
- Monitor and log energy and utility usage.
- Ensure all work complies with Hilton brand standards and local safety codes.
- Assist in renovation and upgrade projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial, or residential facility
- Strong working knowledge of general maintenance tools, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Familiarity with safety procedures and maintenance protocols
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to prioritize workload
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Certification in HVAC or electrical systems is a plus
