Maintenance Technician II (8197)

Schedule/Hours: M - F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Rotating On-Call Duties

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of skilled maintenance and preventative work for buildings and grounds including heating, ventilation, electrical, and air conditioning work as well as day-to-day routine maintenance and repairs.

Essential Functions:

Repairs mechanical malfunctions and performs preventative maintenance on heating and air condition equipment; adjusts and repairs physical plant machinery, heating and cooling systems.

Inspects, tests, and adjusts physical plant machinery; maintains electrical systems, and records in accordance with schedules.

Installs outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment.

Troubleshoots and repairs minor mechanical malfunctions and preventive maintenance; performs minor adjustments; lubricates and cleans equipment, appliances, and/or machinery.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
• Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
• Ability to drive a vehicle safely and in compliance of all laws and regulations.
• Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently.
