Main Duties & Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring production and facility equipment is always working. He/she will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all equipment according to safety. He/she will follow preventative maintenance schedules along with existing equipment protocol including building maintenance.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- General knowledge required in mechanics (gears, bearings, pulleys, belts, etc.), pneumatics and electric drives to effectively perform various duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
- Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service.
- Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Performs mechanic skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Will use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Ability to comply with all safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Machine set-up experience required.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and use measuring instruments, including rulers, micrometers (U.S. and metric), and digital measuring equipment preferred.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting production machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting production schedules and performance expectations.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Basic computer skills and experience using computerized systems.
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential; excellent attendance is expected.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, including extended shifts and weekends.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One or more years of industrial, manufacturing, machine operation, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
