In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all maintenance activities from tool maintenance / repairs - mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment - facility requirements while sustaining a preventative maintenance approach and supporting urgent production needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: TOOLING SUPPORT Assist with preventative maintenance on molds and components as needed, to included disassembles, lubricates, reassembles and stores tools per preventative maintenance requirements. Reads basic blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, or specifications to determine assembly, preventative maintenance requirements, dimensions and the tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Grinds, files, and sands parts to fit parts for assembly and to polish smooth and finish cavity. Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, molds and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. Accurately and timely documents job activities and all tooling movement. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. Supports Last Time Buy process with tool preparation, documentation and system updates.
EQUIPMENT, SYSTEMS & FACILITY Maintains utility systems to support continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations. Installation of electrical equipment and any repair or replacement necessary to wiring and electrical fixtures. Fabricates and modifies machines, tools, and auxiliary equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing jobs. Actives demonstrates working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, cutting, welding, fabrication, and tooling. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems. Performs equipment repairs as directed. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Understands how to safely work with electrical components up to 480 volts. Must be able to read and follow blueprints and schematics. Understands the basics of ergonomics and refers to that science when fabricating and repairing tables, counters, benches and chairs. Cleans up area after each maintenance project, places all tools and equipment in proper storage location and cleans work/storage area and maintenance office. Rebuilds machines and overhauls troublesome components and attachments involving dismantling, inspection and replacement of parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
GENERAL Develops routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of machinery and equipment. Participates actively in programs identified by Poly-Cast as essential to developing and maintaining the skills and knowledge in order to be effective in the role as maintenance technician. Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement, Total Productivity, 5-S principles by offering suggestions for improvement and playing an active role in the implementation of improvements.
