Maintenance Technician

Location: Melbourne, FL

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $24.00 $26.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 2:30 PM 11:00 PM with occasional overtime
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
  • Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
  • Perform general maintenance including changing HVAC filters, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electric, and building/assembling furniture.
  • Complete daily work orders.
  • Meet with vendors as needed.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Required Experience

  • 4 6 years of general maintenance experience
  • 1 2 years of job-related experience (per role requirements)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Must meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Some independent work and may need to assist other technicians.
  • Occasional overtime required.
  • Background check including drug screen and MVR required; additional client screening to be completed after initial screening.

Important Notes

  • Interview process: 1st round virtual (Zoom) with facility manager; 2nd round in person with site tour.
  • This position has potential to convert to a permanent role.
