Our Line Mechanic / Manufacturing Maintenance Technicians are responsible for safely troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing production and packaging equipment within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing facility. This hands-on technician role supports daily production by minimizing equipment downtime, completing preventive maintenance, performing equipment changeovers, and ensuring manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Successful candidates will have experience working with industrial production equipment and possess strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. The Line Mechanic works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other support teams to quickly resolve equipment issues while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, employee safety standards, and established production procedures.
This position plays an important role in supporting manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, product quality, and the achievement of daily production goals.
Positions available on all shifts. Overtime required as needed to support the business.
1st Shift: M-F 5:30am - 4:00pm / 2nd Shift: M-F 2:00pm - 10:30pm / 3rd Shift: SU-TH 8:00pm - 6:30am
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair packaging and production line equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs efficiently and effectively to minimize production downtime and support daily manufacturing goals
- Prioritize equipment issues based on operational impact, urgency, safety, and production requirements
- Communicate equipment issues, repairs, and maintenance needs effectively with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and leadership teams
- Utilize the Digital Production System (Redzone) to track equipment downtime, document production information, complete quality compliance requirements, and communicate with support functions
- Complete equipment and production line changeovers safely and efficiently
- Perform preventive maintenance on assigned production and packaging equipment to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
- Read and interpret equipment drawings, schematics, technical documentation, and OEM manuals to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment
- Learn and maintain customer standards related to product specifications, packaging requirements, and acceptable quality standards
- Read, understand, and follow daily production instructions, maintenance requirements, specifications, and operating procedures
- Accurately complete required production, quality, traceability, maintenance, and compliance documentation
- Follow all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and other applicable manufacturing standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical school, vocational training, associate degree, or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience will be considered
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, production equipment maintenance, or a related mechanical technician role preferred
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production, packaging, processing, or other industrial equipment preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing, food production, consumer packaged goods, distribution, or other fast-paced industrial environment preferred
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, equipment changeovers, mechanical repairs, and production line troubleshooting preferred
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), digital production systems, or downtime tracking systems is preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to diagnose equipment failures and identify appropriate repair solutions
