Job Description
The Mammography Technologist provides high-quality breast imaging services in support of Valley Health's commitment to improving access to preventive care throughout the region. This role performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while delivering exceptional patient care in a variety of community-based healthcare settings. The Mammography Technologist works collaboratively with radiologists, providers, and support staff to ensure safe, accurate, and compassionate care for patients across the communities served by Valley Health.
Schedule
- Monday- Thursday 4 x 10 hour day shift (subject to change)
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout the imaging process.
- Obtain patient histories and verify appropriate orders and documentation.
- Maintain imaging equipment and quality assurance standards to meet accreditation and compliance requirements.
- Educate patients regarding procedures and answer questions in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Accurately document patient information and imaging data within the electronic medical record and PACS systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to support timely diagnosis and follow-up care.
- Assist with imaging operations, equipment readiness, and site preparation to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
- Support Valley Health initiatives focused on increasing access to preventive healthcare services.
Qualifications Required
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT certification in Mammography (ARRT-M).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong patient care, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing patient and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous mammography experience.
- Experience providing care in community outreach, ambulatory, or multi-site healthcare settings.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and underserved communities.
